Dr. Shanelle Watson

 
A Psychological Assistant, under the supervision of Dr. Vanessa Isetta, Dr. Watson earned her Master of Arts degree in School Psychology and her doctorate degree (Psy.D) in Educational Psychology from Alliant International University, Los Angeles. 

 

Since 2002, Dr. Watson, has had professional experience with children and their families which has included providing therapeutic behavioral interventions for children and adolescents, assisting in enhancing social skills, leading ADHD groups, performing educational and clinical assessments and offering individual therapy for both children and adults.  Her work experience includes: Orange County Unified School-Age Care Program; Los Angeles Unified School District; Discrete Trail Training (DTT) at Fountain Valley Unified School District; Meza Mental Health, and Children’s Institute Inc. (Torrance and Watts).

 

Dr. Watson has worked with individuals presenting with a variety of symptoms and diagnoses.  In therapeutically supporting children and adolescents, Dr. Watson collaborates with clients’ parents throughout the process, which she feels ensures greater success with treatment outcomes.

Currently trained in Incredible Years (Parent Series and Dina School) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dr. Watson’s approach seeks to assist individuals in improving their own personal goals and relational goals at home, in schools and within their community.

Starting Social Skills Group Saturday, March 3rd 2012 10 am to 11:15 am

Accepting consequences? Then this is the group for them.  This 12 week group will help your child  Making friends and join in, identify and express feelings, resolve conflict, teamwork and  deal with peer pressure.
